WELCOME!

Welcome to my blog! My name is Laine, and I am a neurodivergent Transition Specialist & Special Educator in the Boston, MA area.

I enjoy helping my neurodivergent community to learn the life skills & vocational skills that are important for success in transitioning to adulthood. I am also passionate about disability advocacy, and enjoy teaching the general public about neurodiversity, ableism, and other disability topics.

I have 15 years of experience working in the disability field, and a lifetime of experience navigating the world with a disability myself.

Outside of teaching, I love spending time with my wife, hiking, nature, animals, and creating both music & art!

Unusual facts about me:

1. My favorite time of year to hike is THE WINTER.

2. I went to college to be a violinist, but switched to Psychology.

3. My wife and I play in a band together.

4. I used to be fluent in Spanish (and no longer am).

5. I had brain surgery when I was 17!
